Charming Fall Embroidery Hoops
As the crisp autumn air sets in, it's the perfect time to embrace the cozy, colorful spirit of fall with a fun crafting project (originally made by Albion, @albiongould). Using supplies from our latest BGM Box, you can create festive embroidery hoops to decorate your home. Follow this easy guide to make your own charming fall-themed embroidery hoops!
Supplies Needed:
- BGM Box items: Pumpkin Harvest buttons, Sunflowers buttons, Autumn Glory Sparkletz, and Box Exclusive Assortment
- 1 4” embroidery hoop, 2 3” embroidery hoops
- Cream colored felt
- Brown paint
- Paintbrush
- Cream colored thread (ECRU matched the felt perfectly)
- DMC 4045
- Needle
- Glue (Aleene’s Original Tacky Glue recommended)
Directions:
1. Prepare Your Hoops:
Start by painting the outside of each embroidery hoop brown. For the best results, it’s ideal to do this step first, allowing the paint to fully dry before continuing with the rest of the project. If you forgot to paint them at the beginning, don’t worry—you can still paint them at the end.
2. Cut Your Felt:
Cut three pieces of cream felt to fit the size of your hoops. These will serve as the base for your designs.
3. Attach Your Buttons:
Choose your favorite Pumpkin Harvest, Fall Friends and other buttons, and stitch or glue them onto the felt. Position them creatively to create a festive fall scene.
4. Add Details:
Using DMC 4045 thread, add stems and vine detailing around your buttons. This thread will bring extra texture and dimension to your design.
5. Embellish with Sparkle:
Enhance your felt with additional embellishments. Use the Autumn Glory Sparkletz from your BGM Box, or any other Sparkletz, to add a touch of shimmer to your project.
6. Finish Your Hoops:
Once all embellishments are securely attached, trim any excess felt around the edges. For a clean look, you can finish the back of the hoop using your favorite method.
Now these lovely fall embroidery hoops are now ready to brighten up your home and celebrate the season. Whether you display them on your wall, use them as part of a fall wreath, or give them as thoughtful gifts, they’re sure to add a cozy, autumnal touch to any space.
